5 fun facts about alex morgan

1) MODEL PLAYER

Morgan isn’t afraid to show off her fit body. She donned a barely there body paint bikini in the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and later a sporty work out tank and short shorts for Maxim.

2) THE FIRST COUPLE OF SEATTLE SOCCER

Alex and boyfriend Servando Carrasco, both 23, scored in the love department. The couple, who play for the Seattle Sounders’ men and women’s teams, have been dating since Alex’s first year at Berkley. Seattle Times reporter Steve Kelley dubbed the pair Seattle’s “first couple” of soccer.

3) ANIMAL LOVER

What if her soccer dreams hadn’t come true? “I would probably be a sports commentator or be a veterinarian – my teammates would tell you how much I love animals,” she told USA Today.

4) LATECOMER

It wasn’t always about soccer for Alex. She competed in basketball, softball, volleyball and track during her teen years and didn’t join club soccer until the advanced age of 14 (that’s old in club soccer years).

5) BRAINIAC

She’s a scholar, too! Alex earned a spot on the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District team and graduated from University of California, Berkley a semester early with a degree in Political Economy.
